Why a women-only class

Many women want to learn jiu-jitsu but feel unsure about starting in a mixed room. The women's program gives you a place to build skills and confidence with training partners closer to your size, at your pace. Members are welcome in every other class too, whenever they're ready.

What you'll learn

  • Self-defence that works for smaller people: escaping holds, getting up safely and controlling a larger opponent.
  • Sport jiu-jitsu: the same techniques used in competition, drilled step by step.
  • Confidence under pressure: you practise staying calm in tough positions until it feels normal.

Your coach

Coach Yuki Hanaoka is a purple belt who leads the women's program. Reviewers describe her as patient and highly knowledgeable.
