Vaughan Jiu-Jitsu Academy runs kids jiu-jitsu for ages 4 to 12 at 130 Racco Parkway, Unit 5, Vaughan. Kids B1 (ages 4 to 6) meets Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Kids Levels 1 to 3 (ages 7 to 12) meets Monday to Thursday at 6:00 PM, with Kids No-Gi on Saturday. The first class is free.

Two programs, built for how kids learn
Kids B1 BJJ (ages 4 to 6)
A first taste of jiu-jitsu built on play. Classes run 40 minutes and focus on balance, coordination, listening and safe falling. Games carry the lesson, so young kids stay engaged and leave wanting to come back.
Kids Levels 1 to 3 (ages 7 to 12)
A structured belt curriculum with real self-defence, anti-bullying strategies and live practice with partners their own size. Kids move through levels as their skills grow, and parents receive a quarterly progress report listing what their child covered.
What your child takes home
- Confidence. Kids learn they can stay calm under pressure, because they practise it every class.
- A plan for bullying. Verbal strategies first, then safe control techniques that end a situation without striking.
- Focus and respect. Every class follows a student code: full attention on the instructor, respect for partners and steady effort.
- Fitness that feels like play. Coordination, strength and cardio, without anyone calling it a workout.
Is jiu-jitsu safe for kids?
Jiu-jitsu has no punching or kicking. Kids learn to control a partner and to tap, which means "stop", the moment anything feels uncomfortable. Coaches pair children by size and age and supervise every round of live practice.
Want to compete?
It's optional. Kids who catch the competition bug can join Kids S&C on Saturdays, the academy's competition program, and enter local tournaments with the team. See upcoming competitions.
